I can tell you though that he was flying a C-Model Weedhopper with a Rotax 277 (belt drive), and brand new sails. It is likely the plane was recently rebuilt. I'm on a weedhopper online group, I'll ask and see if anyone knows him. Too bad the media doesn't have more information, not that they would get it right anyway.
